Can Dogs Eat Stock Cubes? – Nutrition Card

Although dogs may love them, stock cubes should not be consumed.

Generally, these cubes contain:

  1. Flavorings
  2. Colorants
  3. Monosodium glutamate.

The first two do not really have any nutritional contribution, but if your dog has hypertension, digestive sensitivity, or skin problems, these ingredients can exacerbate the problem.

And the third, monosodium glutamate, has the function of enhancing the flavor of food, but has been shown in animals and humans to be associated with obesity, diabetes, hepatotoxicity, neurotoxic and genotoxic effects.

Sometimes when eating these cubes your dog may present vomiting, decay, diarrhea, and inappetence, but not always the signs are immediate.

This is precisely what is dangerous about this food because obesity, insulin-related changes, gene modification, and many other alterations do not happen overnight, but progressively.
