For starters, some of these chips have garlic and onion extracts, which does not make them the best choice for our dogs.
On the other hand, it is not that your dog will get immediate food poisoning if he eats chips, this will only happen if he is allergic.
But frequent consumption will not give him any beneficial nutritional contribution to his health and on the contrary, it will cause problems such as:
- Hypertension is due to the amount of salt that these packages contain, since they supply and sometimes exceed the recommended daily amounts.
- Overweight because, in addition to the excess salt, they contain trans fats that are not used by the body.
Although some preservatives are not considered toxic, it should be taken into account that they do not offer any benefit either and are not what a dog that physiologically is a facultative carnivore would normally eat.
